Terms of use

Using this site means you accept the following.

What our recommendations are

Everything here is a research aid, not professional plumbing, engineering, or health advice. Water treatment decisions depend on your own water, plumbing, and local code. Where a decision carries real consequences, have it checked by someone who can see the installation.

Specifications and prices

Specs are read from the manufacturer's own documentation and dated where shown, and prices move without notice. Verify both with the seller before buying. We correct errors when we find them, but we cannot warrant that every figure is current at the moment you read it.

How we earn

We earn affiliate commissions on some outbound links, disclosed sitewide in the footer and inline near the first such link on every page. The full arrangement is described on our methodology page. Commissions do not change our rankings.

Outbound links

Linked sites are operated by other companies. Their terms, prices, warranties, and privacy practices govern anything you do there, and we have no control over them.

Email signups

If you subscribe, you may unsubscribe at any time from the link in any email we send. What we store and why is set out in our privacy policy.

Changes

These terms may change as the site does. Continued use after a change means you accept the revised version.
